Old Age Home
There are two types of Old Age Homes in India. One is the "Free" type which cares for the destitute old people who have no one else to care for them. They are given shelter, food, clothing and medical care. The second type is the "Paid" home where care is provided for a fee. Nowadays, such "Retirement" homes have become very popular in India and they are well worth considering. Rehabilitation centre for aged and needy persons is a dire need of the hour. It is voluntary service which is generally render for those, living orphanage life and are generally kept away from the society due to developed modern concept of living standard. These include old age persons, persons whose family members do not like or those old people who want to stay away from family to avoid family disturbances, quarrels, or those people who want to spend their life in isolation. These rehabilitation centre serve their purpose and render services to them at no profit no loss basis. Besides these centres serve the society to reduce the overburden of this families in the busy life. So this concept has been taken into account to serve all over India. The development of housing for residential apartments of aged & needy persons was hardly gives any attention before independence. After independence investment in housing has increased in public as well as private sector.
